When shopping for non-portable monitors, most of them are bright enough that you don’t even need to look at nits, and it’s usually the resolution or something else that is the bottleneck. But for portable monitors, there are many out there where the brightness is so low its unusable. So you gotta look at the nits.

I ended up buying this 500 nit UPERFECT one, and its so many times better than my first purcahse. Would highly recommend. Its surprisingly light which is important because I carry it in my backpack – don’t want it to get damaged in my suitcase. And it can be powered by my macbook alone. It’s just so much easier working with an extra screen.

FYI resolution was another spec I was considering. But IMO resolution doesn’t matter that much because a portable monitor can only be so big. My UPERFECT one is 1080p which is perfectly fine. Looks as sharp as my 2k 27in monitor.
